But what if we told you anyone who has access to a computer can create high-quality audio content from the comfort of their home without paying a dime? You can use the same process to record existing tracks and listen to them backwards, I’d probably avoid any heavy metal albums from the 1970s though. Some artists dish out hundreds or even thousands of dollars to hire a sound engineer and recording studio to get professional-level audio. ![]() It’s not just for voices, reversing natural or musical sounds can give all manner of cool effects, like the backwards Cymbal in The Beatles’ 1967 single Strawberry Fields Forever.Īs long as you begin with a nice natural sound that changes pitch, then the altered version will also have that nice organic feel to it, so try recording a few sounds around you, dogs barking, machinery, birds, water, anything you can get hold of. Of course, once you’ve reversed it, you can use Audition to play around with it even more, speeding it up, slowing it down, adding echo, changing modulation. You can now play your selection in reverse, or save it for use in a multi track edit. Now save you reversed sound, just change the filename so you don’t overwrite the original. It is Reverse and not Invert, Invert is something else entirely, still very useful but despite how it sounds, it is nothing to do with reversing. Now select Effects from the top menu and then Reverse from the dropdown list. Save the track so you have the correct version safe before you alter it, now choose either the whole track or the section you want to reverse. Open or record your sound in Audition, and preview it in the single track edit window. It’s really very easy though, you can experiment just by using a simple option in Adobe Audition. Reverse tape, phonetic reversal, backmasking, they all just mean playing it backwards, but you might like to use one of the other phrases to sound like you know what you are doing. The Beatles did it to great effect using reverse tape effects on Sergeant Pepper, and some bands tried mind control by hiding hidden messages via phonetic reversal in their album tracks. ![]() Ever since someone realised you could manually spin a vinyl record the wrong way, people have been experimenting with playing sound backwards.

If possible, kill all the weaker Cyborg enemies with Charging Slash attacks to work on that achievement a bit while you practice the gameplay. During this playthrough, follow the walkthrough to get all the 10x Endurance upgrades and the 5x Fuel Cells upgrades (if you want, also go after the 5x Data Storage collectibles they don't have any practical purpose though, they are just for collection), and try your best to learn the new gameplay mechanics. I suggest playing the game on Easy for the first time, since for some reason the enemies are already as aggressive as they can get even on the lowest difficulty. ![]() The attack you need to use is in fact "Charging Slash", and not the one under the name of "Quick Draw".Īlthough one playthrough is theoretically all you need, I suggest (much like in the main game) an additional "learning" playthrough first. *The achievement description is a bit misleading. The remaining two achievements will be unlocked simply by completing the DLC for the first time ( DL-Story-01: Status - Closed) and by killing a total of 100 enemies using the "Quick Draw *" attack ( Draw, Pardner!) the latter is a bit of a grinding, but it won't take more than 20 minutes, give or take. The hardest two require you to defeat the final boss without taking damage on Hard or higher difficulty ( You're Hired), and to complete the DLC on Revengeance within one hour ( Master of the Wind). ![]() The spray can lid makes it look almost beige, but I assure that that it is the perfect warm white spray paint color (perfect for a farmhouse themed home). If you’re looking to spray paint decor or furniture white, pick up a can of Rustoleum Heirloom White. ![]() I have one more bonus white for you, and is not a Sherwin Williams color. So paint your trim Pure White in a semi-gloss, and your walls Pure White in a satin.īecause a high gloss finish reflects more light, the trim will look brighter than the walls, but the undertones are guaranteed to be perfectly matched (because they are, perfectly matched!). Instead of trying to get the undertones of two different paint colors to match perfectly, consider painting your trim and wall color the SAME white, but in different sheens. If you want to paint your walls and your trim white, as is so in style right now, I have another option for you. Get Samplize squares of all of Sherwin Williams’ best white paint colors here! Pairing White Walls With White Trim Samplize sheets are truly the easiest (and fastest!) way to try a paint color in your home, with no mess. Pure White has a LRV (Light Reflectance Value) of 84, meaning it is a very white paint color, with just a hint of color.Ĭlick here for a complete paint color review of Pure White. But the hint of color in it makes sure it doesn’t give off a cool blueish tone like many whites do. It is a very bright white with just a touch of warmth to it. My favorite white trim paint color from Sherwin Williams is Pure White.Īs the name implies, Pure White is a good, true white. I can’t tell you what a difference it makes if you repaint yellowed, white paint with a brighter white. House trim looks amazing in a crisp, clean white. So consider these things when you’re picking a white paint color for your home. In this case, a cooler white will look a little warmer on the walls, and may be just perfect to neutralize the warmth of the sun. If your room is south facing, it tends to get a lot more warm, golden sunlight. If your room is north facing, there will tend to be a little less light, and a warm white does well to brighten the space. There is no right or wrong in which one you decide on, but there are few general guidelines you should consider. White paint with warm undertones, which means it will have a hint of yellow, red or orange, will likely look softer on your walls. White paint with cool undertones, which are shades of blue, green and purple, will tend to look more stark on your walls. The undertones in white paint can make a big difference in how it looks. White Paint Undertonesīefore we go into which white paint color works best where, we should chat for a minute about undertones. If you have any questions, please see my disclaimer page. Well it depends on what you are painting. So how do you choose the best white paint color? Some can feel flat and boring, and others can warm a room up making it feel inviting and clean. It was so much better I pretty much made the decision to abandon the old tools that day.Īmazon has genuine dewalt 18v two packs for $110.Bauer to craftsman battery adapter. My drill was failing and was down to one good battery so I bought a 20v drill/impact kit. Friend had a bunch of them for his construction biz and they worked OK, no comparison to these modern 20v packs though. The 18v lithium batteries were expensive and low amp hour by today's standard. This makes the batteries a bit cheaper to manufacture. The 20v line is designed from the ground up to be lithium power so the the control circuitry is instead located on each tool (or the adapter). They also require a different charger to charge the lithium cells. These were made as a retrofit, to use lithium on nicad tools. The older 18v lithium packs had the control circuitry on board each battery. When a charge is introduced to shorted cells, the cells can almost spontaneously burst into flame and it can pack a pretty good punch with a big battery like that. If they get stored in a run down state they can continue to discharge below the safe threshold. That's why the charger will refuse to charge some batteries. Charging a lithium pack that's been run down beyond the safe limit can be kinda dangerous. Copper shunts form inside the cells and can short them out. If lithium cells discharge too far the chemistry becomes unstable. ![]() That is the circuitry turning the battery off. That's why lithium tools don't seem to run down, they kinda just suddenly quit. Lithium batteries require circuitry to turn off the battery when they reach a certain discharge point. That's my experience and opinion and the whole 2 cents. Reinvest and buy stuff right around Christmas and it wouldn't cost much more for the bare tools and then invest in the batteries. I didn't check the big boombox and other tools. I wanna say the crappy flex flashlight was around $30. Stuff like the little vacuum and angle grinder was like $80+ ea. I looked on ebay a few weeks ago and am amazed at what that stuff sales for. In the end the bulk, weight, runtime, everything of 18v and even my smaller 14v drill was realized. It was like wearing cinder blocks as shoes compared to sneakers. I got the adapter and use it sometimes with some of my more special tools like right angle drill and angle grinder. But then I bought a 20v brushless driver/drill combo to get me by and then decided to just wait it out for the long awaited 18v/20v adapter to use with the older tools. Even had about 8 or so 7-cell R/C packs that I could've tore down to use if the cells were still good. I used to build my own nimh packs back in the R/C days so it would've been no problem. Would've cost me like $100 to do 3) 18v and 2)14v packs from decent 2200mah cells from ebay. A few years back I was going to rebuild mine. It’s probably the best-looking game on the Genesis and has lost nothing in its transfer to Sega CD. In fact, the colour design is worth extra mention-the game is absolutely lush throughout, with real depth to the character shading and a consistency that most similar games fail to match. ![]() Mickey himself is arguably at the best he’s looked in a videogame, full of expression, smoothly animated and fantastically well-coloured. The little touches, such as the scratches overlaid onto the first level (to simulate watching the cartoon on worn film stock), the three-dimensional entrance to the Lonesome Ghosts’ mansion and the way that the colour gradually returns to the docks as you pass through them lend an unmistakable sense that the developers cared about this game-and that’s without mentioning the rotating tower levels, which need to be seen to be believed. ![]() There are plenty of secrets, some of which are extremely tricky to find, including a full secret level based on Mickey’s first colour appearance, “The Band Concert.”Īs far as visuals go, Traveller’s Tales outdid themselves-Mickey Mania is graphically stunning throughout, with fantastic sprite design and background art really giving the game an authentic cartoon feel. Thankfully, the levels are, without exception, fun to play and throw up more than a few surprises. (The Queen Spider chase in “Mickey and the Beanstalk,” for example, is laughably anti-climactic.) This also gives the game a rather bitty feel, with some sub-levels lasting less than a minute. This can be a little frustrating, as there’s certainly more they could have done with some of the mechanics. (Even the shortest level, “Moose Hunters,” has two sections that are entirely different.) Most of these introduce some sort of new gimmick, which is promptly done away with in the next area. The levels themselves are varied, with each one built of several distinct sections. ![]() The experience as a whole is slightly hamstrung by this rigid commitment to chronicling the all-American rodent’s exploits in the correct order, but not to the extent that the game is ruined. The chronological nature of the cartoons doesn’t really lend itself to a traditional game structure, so you will play levels that really belong near the end of the game (“The Mad Doctor” is a particular culprit) rather too soon, for the obnoxious reason that the cartoon it’s based on was released earlier than those that inspired the easier stages. This problem is compounded by the learning curve, which essentially doesn’t exist. This means that the levels aren’t exactly related, so there isn’t much of a sense of progression. It doesn’t take long to get used to them.Įach stage takes the form of a classic Mickey Mouse cartoon, largely from the thirties. The controls feel slightly floaty, which can be a little disconcerting at first. By default, the A and C buttons jump, while the B button throws marbles, which is Mickey’s primary attack, alongside his size thirteens. Travellers Tales seem to have focused on simplicity, as Mickey is a piece of cake to control. This much should seem obvious, given that it was released on 16-bit consoles, as every 16-bit game ever made is also a platformer. As a proven advocate of the old-school Disney games, what better to celebrate my homecoming with? ![]() After all, long-time readers may remember that I reviewed both Castle of Illusion and its seminal sequel back in the old days. However, this isn’t as arbitrary as it sounds-not only is Mickey Mania an extremely enjoyable game, it’s also rather appropriate as my comeback review. The resolution, you ask? Essentially I got bored and chose the game I’d played most recently, which happened to be Mickey Mania. For what must have been a full minute I agonised over this, painstakingly sorting through the thousands of games I’ve enjoyed and endured, desperate to find that one title that would serve as the catalyst to my resurrection. A game that would speak to you-communicating my personality, tastes, opinions and integrity. After considerable time away from GameCola, I had to choose the perfect game to review upon my grand return. ![]()
Here are the main threats to watch out for. The problem is that hackers often leverage this service to attack users with malicious intent. Online advertisements and pop-ups are not just annoying – there’s actually a dark side of Google Ads that puts your cybersecurity at enormous risk. So, if you’re concerned about your online privacy, blocking Google ads is one of the main ways to protect yourself. In particular, Google services use this information to spread targeted ads based on your browsing habits, interests, location data, and more. In fact, most platforms run by Google, from YouTube to Google Photos, gather tons of customer data for marketing purposes.
